Pilot killed in Bristol plane crash remembered as longtime health care provider, veteran

BRISTOL, Maine — The New Hampshire man killed in a plane crash off the coast of Bristol was remembered by colleagues as a dedicated health care provider, mentor, and veteran who spent more than two decades caring for patients at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. John Hall, 54, of Lee, New Hampshire, died Thursday after the small plane he was piloting crashed near Fort William Henry in Bristol. His 21-year-old son, Tyler Hall, was the plane's only passenger and survived the crash with injuries not considered life-threatening. He was remembered by colleagues as a steady and generous presence who was willing to help others. For many at the hospital, Hall was a mentor and trusted teammate, according to Roark.
