Pittsburgh pediatric doctor fatally stabbed and wife wounded in attack as they slept

NBC News reports: There are no new alerts at this time A Pittsburgh pediatric doctor was killed and his wife was wounded when they were brutally stabbed while they slept in their bed, police said Thursday. Police responded to a home in Edgewood on Thursday shortly after midnight and found Idris Evans, 46, and his wife with “multiple stab wounds,” Allegheny County police said . Evans, a pediatric critical care physician at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh , was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
