(FOX40.COM) — An active manhunt is being conducted in Placer County looking for a suspect deemed to be “armed and dangerous,” officials announced Sunday afternoon. According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Derek Spencer is wanted for several felonies, including pointing a firearm at Placer County victims earlier today. Spencer was located by deputies in the Iowa Hill area, at which point he rammed a Placer County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle and fled the area. Officials say he fired shots at law enforcement and law enforcement helicopters.
