Police: 1 dead, 2 injured after crash occurs in Fairfield Township while officers respond to 911 call

Police say that one person is dead and two others are injured after a crash occurred in Fairfield Township on Saturday. According to the Fairfield Township Police Department, the crash occurred as officers were being dispatched to a separate police incident that had been reported at approximately 2:53 p.m. after an unconscious person was reported nearby at an undisclosed location in the township. However, as officers were traveling to the scene with their lights and sirens on, a crash was reported to have occurred nearby when multiple vehicles simultaneously moved over to the side of the road to make room for the police cruisers, which were traveling eastbound on Millikin Road near Greatus Drive at the time. Police say that that's when a gray 2016 Lincoln Navigator being driven by a 43-year-old man crashed into the rear of a gray 2019 Acura RDX on the westbound lanes of Millikin Road. The Acura was being operated by 85-year-old Logan Stone at the time, while his wife, also 85, was in the passenger seat.
