Police: 1 shot in front of popular restaurant near UC

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Corryville near the University of Cincinnati Friday afternoon. Police at the scene tell FOX19 NOW that a man standing in front of Cincy Steak and Lemonade, located at 2607 Short Vine St., was shot in the stomach after another man approached him and then ran off. Officers shut down Short Vine Street between Charlton and East Daniels streets around 12:45 p.m. A UC alert was also sent out to the community, citing an “emergency.” At 1:10 p.m., another alert went out giving the “all clear.” “Officers checked area, suspect(s) fled. Cincinnati/UC Police will remain in area.
