The Danville Police Department said officers responded to the G Building at the Purdum Woods apartment complex on Richmond Boulevard around 1:23 a.m. after receiving reports of multiple shots fired and a child being struck. When officers arrived, they found the 1-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower body. First responders provided medical aid before she was airlifted to a trauma center.
