LEBANON, Maine (WGME) -- An investigation is underway after a family's dog was fatally shot outside a home in Lebanon. The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 15 on Lower Middle Road. Ashley Wheeler told the Portland Press Herald that Kane, the family's 2-year-old German Shepherd, slipped outside while she was heading out the door with her 7-year-old daughter.
