CEDARTOWN, Ga. — A Cedartown police officer shot and killed a donkey that charged at a K-9 search team as officers looked for a missing 12-year-old girl late last month, according to a police report. HeeHaw's death has sparked an emotional response from the family who raised him and from people across the country. The officer has been placed on leave pending an investigation. The girl had been missing from her home on Coaling Road for about two hours when Cedartown police were called to assist in the search on Aug. Officers worked with a Polk County Police Department K-9 handler and requested a bloodhound team from Haralson County.
