PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police said they are investigating a shooting Friday afternoon. Police said they were called to the 100 block of Wright Avenue, which is off of Deep Creek Boulevard, just after 3 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital to be treated. Police did not have any information to share about the condition of the man, or any suspect details.
