Poudre school board formally opposes transgender sports measure

Poudre School District's Board of Education is officially opposing Proposition 134, the Colorado ballot measure that would prohibit biological males from participating in school sports designated for females. The seven-member board passed a resolution by a 5-2 vote in opposition to the citizen-initiated ballot measure during its Sept. 22 meeting following a brief discussion about whether or not the Board of Education should be supporting or opposing any ballot measures. The school board's opposition, according to the wording of the resolution, is based on the "significant unfunded implementation responsibilities for local school districts" that its passage would require.
