Round Rock man charged after deadly park attack, deputies say

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect after a person was found dead in a Round Rock park on Monday. Benedict Ogbodiegwu Jr., 26, of Round Rock, has been charged with murder, according to a sheriff's social media post. The sheriff's office is withholding the victim's identity until next of kin can be notified. "Based on preliminary evidence and information developed so far, investigators believe the attack was a random act and that the victim and suspect were not known to one another," the post said. Ogbodiegwu was arrested late Monday night. Detectives, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, are continuing to investigate the case and declined to release further information.
