Sacramento man arrested, accused of violent threats linked to Nolan Wells’ death

A Sacramento man is in custody in Mississippi on a federal charge accusing him of sending a direct message over social media threatening to kill a judge with a connection to the disappearance and death of Nolan Wells earlier this month, according to records filed in the case. Wells, 18, disappeared July 4 during a boat trip with three friends to Horn Island in Jackson, Mississippi, and his body was recovered two days later by a National Park Service ranger on a nearby island. Ashlee Cole, a chancery judge whose son was among those three friends, earlier this month posted screenshots of graphic death threats she said she had received via Facebook, from an anonymous account with the username “yaeyae962,” the Biloxi-based Sun Herald newspaper reported. Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce, of Sacramento, is being held on a federal charge of interstate transmission of a threatening communication, a crime that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of post-release supervision.
