SHELBY, Mont. — A multi-car train derailment near Highway 2 in Shelby Monday morning prompted the immediate closure of surrounding roads and the evacuation of a nearby school. BNSF confirmed the derailment occurred at approximately 6:39 a.m. inside a rail yard in Shelby. Toole County Undersheriff Tyler Foss says the response was immediate. "About six cars derailed.
