Shooting near 2 Lawrence schools draws large police presence Monday afternoon

Monday evening update: Police search for person of interest in Lawrence triple shooting Police are asking the public to avoid an area of Lawrence near the city’s high school as authorities respond to a shooting Monday afternoon. Lawrence police alerted the public to a large police presence near the intersection of Exeter and Crawford Streets around 3:40 p.m. The intersection is located a block away from Lawrence High School and South Lawrence East Elementary School. A Massachusetts State Police spokesperson said the agency is sending resources to assist Lawrence police after a reported shooting. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for information Monday afternoon.
