Silver Spring woman sentenced in crash that killed 85-year-old
A Silver Spring, Maryland, woman was sentenced Wednesday after she crashed into a car, killing someone. The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that 24-year-old Jesica Argueta was sentenced to 20 years in prison but will only serve one year. Argueta’s sentence stemmed from a car crash that happened Aug. 7, 2025, at around 7:45 a.m. in the Randolph Road and Sherwood Forest Drive area of Silver Spring. Argueta was driving at 84.5 mph in a 40 mph zone, weaving through morning rush hour traffic before crashing into a car, according to the county state’s attorney’s office.
