Small town south of Spokane evacuated due to wildfire
MALDEN, Wash. — A small town between Spokane and Pullman is under immediate evacuation orders due to a "rapidly developing" wildfire in the area. Residents of Malden are under a Level 3 "Go Now" evacuation. A wildfire that has sparked near the area of John Tye Road has "rapidly developed," Pullman officials said. The town of Rosalia, to the east of Malden, is under a Level 1: "Get Ready" order. Fire crews from Pullman, Spokane and Whitman County are en route to the incident, according to Pullman firefighters.
