Springfield police probe high-speed chase near Stewart arrest

Source Scout · The Oregonian / OregonLive reports: EUGENE — In the wake of Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart’s arrest for DUII early Sunday morning, Springfield police are investigating a separate, high-speed incident involving two vehicles — one of which was found near the area where Stewart was pulled over. Police have no reason to believe Stewart was involved in the speeding incident, they said in a press release Monday. George Crolly, deputy chief of the Springfield Police Department, told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Tuesday that the high-speed chase involving several officers is still under investigation.
