Supreme Court rejects Missouri bid to block 2022 congressional map for November election

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has rejected a request to block a Missouri Supreme Court ruling that requires the state returning to the 2022 congressional map for the November election. Kavanaugh's decision came on Tuesday afternoon. The decision comes following Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins filing an emergency request late last week . In Hoskins' request for a stay, the state argued switching maps following the primary could create constitutional and logistical problems. The state argued that switching maps would create a situation where some voters would be required to choose from candidates that they were unable to vote for in the August primary.
