Suspect accused of shooting at, assaulting family members in custody after manhunt in Davidson County

LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A man who is accused of assaulting several members of his family is in custody following an overnight manhunt, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. At around 4:58 p.m.on Monday, deputies came to the 1400 block of Hartman Road after getting a report of an assault and shots fired. Investigators accuse Kevin Spaugh Sr., 67, of Lexington, of assaulting a woman in his family with the handle of a hammer and strangling her. He is then accused of pointing a gun at two other family members and shooting at them.
