SWAT, K-9 units respond to shooting on Lancaster’s Witte Street

A report of shots fired inside a Lancaster home early Thursday led to a large police response on the city’s southwest side, where officers surrounded a home on Witte Street and deployed specialized units as they searched for a person of interest. Lancaster police were called at 1:16 a.m. about gunshots being fired inside a home on Witte St. When officers arrived, they heard more gunshots from around the back of the house, police said. Several Lancaster Police cruisers responded along with a K-9 unit and SWAT. Police also had a drone in the air, and SWAT and the K-9 unit were seen entering the home.
