Syracuse police and Vera House co-host ‘self-protection workshop’ for women

Source Scout · Syracuse.com reports: Syracuse, N.Y. — This weekend, the Syracuse Police Department and Vera House will co-host a “self-protection workshop” for women. The workshop, called “STRIVE for Safety,” aims to give women tips and tools that can reduce the risk and frequency of intimate partner violence, said Lt. Christina Lewis of the Syracuse Police Department, who helped organize the event. “We thought it would be a great opportunity to work with local partners on something that can really make a positive difference,” Lewis said. “We just want to show the community the support they deserve.” The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
