Teen dead after shooting nearby Westfield High School, Harris County sheriff says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Spring ISD student is dead following a shooting that occurred near Westfield High School on Tuesday afternoon, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened just before 3 p.m. at the sidewalk area adjacent to Westfield High School and Spring ISD building. Authorities say that there were not many students on campus at the time of the shooting. According to Gonzalez, there was some type of incident between the teen victim, who is believed to be 15 years old, and another male, which led up to the shooting. "We don't even know if it's an encounter," Gonzalez said. "I want to be very careful.
