Teen fatally shot in Orange County neighborhood, deputies say

A 17-year-old was fatally shot in an Orange County neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. In a release, deputies said they responded to the 5500 block of Old Cheney Highway around 5 p.m. after receiving reports about the shooting. Upon arrival, they found the teen girl, who had been shot, deputies added. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. “All parties remained on scene, and there is no threat to the community,” the release reads. “The investigation is still in its early stages, and we have no further information to release at this time.” On Thursday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Skyler Ley’shea Bradford. No additional information has been provided at this time.
