Teen killed, several injured in fiery van crash involving high school students, authorities say

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, ILL. ( KMOV /Gray News) - A van carrying half a dozen high school students was involved in a fiery crash in Illinois on Wednesday. According to Cahokia Heights police, the collision occurred at the intersection of Illinois Route 15 and Pocket Avenue at about 8:20 a.m., where the van crashed and caught fire. Cahokia Heights Police Chief Thomas Trice said six Belleville West High School students and two adults were in the van. Several people suffered injuries in the crash and were taken to area hospitals.
