Teen on e-scooter run over, killed in crash with tractor-trailer

MARIETTA, Ga. — Police are investigating after a teenager riding an e-scooter was killed after crashing into a tractor-trailer. Marietta police say a white 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer was at a red traffic light on Cobb Parkway waiting to make a right turn onto Allgood Road. Daniel Jimenez Gutierrez, 17, was riding an e-scooter and tried to pass the tractor-trailer on the right shoulder instead of stopping with traffic. That’s when police say the traffic light changed and the tractor-trailer began turning. Gutierrez crashed into the side of the trailer and got knocked off.
