TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — A teenager was shot and killed at a Tucson park, and police have arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide. According to the Tucson Police Department, officers were called to Thomas Jay Regional Park, 6465 S. Craycroft Road, around 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 5 following gun firereports. When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Anthony Estevan Mendoza Valenzuela suffering from gunshot wounds.

Despite life-saving efforts from officers and the Tucson Fire Department, Mendoza Valenzuela was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives interviewed Arias-Sierra and charged him with second-degree murder.
