‘That was uncalled for’: Country star Trace Adkins recalls moment he was shot by second wife

NASHVILLE, Tenn. ( WSMV /Gray News) - Country star Trace Adkins shared the moment when one of his ex-wives shot him on comedian Theo Von’s podcast “This Past Weekend.” Adkins was shot by his second wife, Julie Lauren Curtis, on Feb. 21, 1991. “That was uncalled for,” Adkins said, recalling what happened. According to Adkins, he didn’t think she had any intention to harm or kill him. “I don’t think she knew what that gun was going to do. I had never seen her hold a gun; I’d never seen her shoot a gun. I knew she had one, but I’d never seen her use it,” the country star said.
