From 1976: A light airplane crashed near Felts Field, killing all five occupants, one of whom was a candidate for the 5th Congressional District seat, Charles G. Kimball’s wife Vivian and their infant son Patrick also died in the crash, along with pilot John D. Alexander and campaign worker Mark E. They were returning from a campaign appearance in Clarkston. Two employees at a nearby electrical repair shop were eating lunch outside when they saw the plane approaching from the southwest.
