This three-time champion CT high school football coach has returned to his alma mater

EAST HARTFORD – The East Hartford boys soccer team was practicing on the turf field, so the football team went up to the old grass field to start its practice one day last week. It was Ty Outlaw’s old field, where the freshman and junior varsity players practiced back in the day and he was getting a little nostalgic. “It actually feels good,” he said. “It feels good to bring them on grass before we get on the turf. They can go through the grind a little bit.” Outlaw, a 1993 East Hartford High graduate who, as head coach, led the Bloomfield football team to three state titles ( the last in 2023) and seven state championship game appearances, is back at his alma mater as the head coach. Somewhere along the line, the East Hartford colors changed from black and yellow to black and gold. I’d rather be a Steeler.
