An Israeli drone strike also hit a tent sheltering displaced people in the al-Mawasi area in western Khan Younis, killing one person and injuring others, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.

Katz made the threat during a high-level security meeting with Israeli military chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir and other top military officials including the head of Israel’s air defence, according to a statement released by his office. “Based on the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and my instructions, the Israeli army will use all necessary tools, including evacuating Gaza residents from any area or neighborhood from which [kite and balloon] launches are carried out,” Katz said.
