Tornado warning active for Madison and Yancey counties Tuesday evening

At 5:36 p.m. on Tuesday, the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC released a tornado warning in effect until 6:15 p.m. for Madison and Yancey counties. Walnut-sized hail (1.5 inches) is foreseen with the incoming storm. "At 5:36 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles southeast of Greeneville, or 9 miles south of Tusculum, moving southeast at 20 mph," states the NWS.
