WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Weather officials issued tornado warnings for parts of the DMV on Tuesday ahead of forecasted heavy storms. Warnings were particularly prevalent in Northern Virigina, with watches covering portions of Virginia, Washington, D.C. and a large part of Maryland. By 6 p.m., a number of warnings had expired with others still active, including in Culpeper, Fauquier, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Orange counties in Virginia. A seven-day weather hazard outlook from NWS detailed possible damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado as threats during a round of severe thunderstorms.
