Track coach says Page High Freshman who died after football injury was already a leader

GREENSBORO, N.C. — As Page High School prepares for a candlelight vigil Thursday night, people who knew Davion Fewell best are describing a 15-year-old who stood out on and off football field. Fewell was hurt during the September 10 game against Grimsley High School and was rushed from the field to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro before he later died. His family says he died from injuries sustained during that Thursday night game, and Guilford County EMS said it responded to Page High at approximately 7:17 p.m. and transported one patient from the scene. Page Principal Eric Naglee confirmed Fewell's death Sunday. A candlelight vigil is planned for 7:30 p.m.
