( FOX 56 ) — Twenty years ago, Comair Flight 5191 crashed shortly after takeoff from Blue Grass Airport, killing 49 people and forever changing Lexington. A memorial service marking the 20th anniversary of the crash is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Arboretum State Botanical Garden of Kentucky , 500 Alumni Drive, near the 5191 Memorial. Mayor Linda Gorton will lead the service. Jacqueline Coleman, representatives of victims’ families, first responders, community leaders and other officials are expected to attend.
