Trial begins for nurse charged with murder in Windsor Hills crash that killed 6
The trial gets underway Monday for a former nurse accused of killing six people in a fiery crash after allegedly speeding through a Los Angeles County intersection at 130 mph. Prosecutors say Nicole Linton, who was 37 at the time of the crash, floored the gas pedal for at least five seconds before slamming into multiple vehicles on Aug. 4, 2022, at the intersection of Slauson and La Brea avenues. Linton, a traveling nurse from Houston, faces six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. The murder charges stem from the deaths of Asherey Ryan, 23; the unborn child she was carrying; her 11-month-old son, Alonzo Quintero; her fiancé, Reynold Lester; Nathesia Lewis, 43; and her friend, Lynette Noble, 38.

"A young family was destroyed in the blink of an eye," then-Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said following the crash. "While the wreckage of this fiery crash at this intersection was removed and traffic eventually resumed, there's catastrophic damage to the families and friends of those killed and injured."
