Tropical Depression Fifteen-E officially strengthened into Tropical Storm Nolo this morning, prompting weather officials to issue a hurricane watch for the Big Island and surrounding waters as the storm tracks toward the main Hawaiian islands. A hurricane warning is in effect through Friday for the Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240 nautical miles, including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals.
