Those threats go back to before the war, added Clarke, noting decisions from Trump’s first administration including approving the strike that killed Qassem Suleimani, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander. In July of this year, Israel shared intelligence with the US that said Iran had hatched a new plan to kill Trump.
