Two killed and two injured in vehicle collision in Antioch
ANTIOCH — Two students at Liberty High in Brentwood died, and a third student suffered serious injuries in a two-car crash early Sunday morning, authorities said. Principal Efa Huckaby in an email to the school community confirmed “with deep sadness” that three of the four people involved in the crash were students and that at least one was a student-athlete. The fourth person also suffered injuries and was hospitalized, authorities said. “Our hearts are with their families, friends, classmates, teammates and everyone affected by this tragedy,” Huckaby wrote. “This loss will be felt throughout our school community.” The wreck came even as Antioch police traffic officers were investigating two hit-and-run crashes that injured a man and woman about three hours apart in their city Saturday night. Authorities did not identify the two students Monday. What matters is that our students know they do not have to face it alone.
