Published 9:50 pm Saturday, August 1, 2026 The evacuation alert has been extended to residents in the La Casa area including La Casa Lakeside Resort and La Casa Cottages. In the latest from Central Okanagan Emergency Management (CORD), the alert was expanded due to the Quilpituk Creek wildfire. “Residents in the evacuation alert area are advised to remain prepared for potential changes in conditions and pending updates from emergency officials,” stated the COEM. “At this time, do not self-evacuate or get into your vehicle unless specifically directed to do so, as unnecessary travel can contribute to congestion and hinder emergency response operations. Being prepared and stay informed will help ensure a safe and orderly response should further action become necessary.” Westside Road remains closed northbound.
