Upstate NY rider flies off motocycle after clipping tractor-trailer

An Upstate New York woman who was paid to care for her elderly father was convicted of felony elder abuse after police found him weighing just 73 pounds and living in filth with a locked refrigerator nearby, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors said Christine Jackson of Schenectady took her father out of a Bronx nursing home in 2023 and collected payments as his caregiver while his weight dropped from 145 pounds to about half that amount. A jury convicted Jackson last week of four felonies, including endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person and grand larceny.
