US congressional candidate arrested in Tennessee after shooting at multiple Flock license plate readers

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Officials with the Maryville Police Department and the Blount County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee said a U.S. congressional candidate has been charged with shooting at multiple automatic license plate readers in Blount County. They said Adam Lee Heimerman, 37, of Lenoir City, was served with warrants for four counts of felony vandalism and arrested. Officials said they first discovered the damage to the ALPRs on July 25, prompting both agencies to work together to investigate the vandalism. After his arrest, investigators said Heimerman admitted he "used a gun" to shoot four ALPR systems between July 14 and July 22. Officials said three of these camera systems were in Blount County and one was in Maryville.
