Voluntary evacuations in place for wildfire burning north of Lyons

A wildfire burning a few miles north of Lyons in Larimer County prompted emergency officials early Monday to ask residents in the area to voluntarily evacuate their homes. Firefighters are on scene and air resources have been ordered to combat the 3.4-acre Burnett Gulch fire, according to a post on X from the U.S. The agency had earlier measured the fire at 18 acres but adjusted the estimated size based on measurements from the air. Firefighters were making “progress on a handline around the fire,” the agency said on X. Voluntary evacuations are in place for residents living along Lonestar Road and Stagecoach Trail in Larimer County.
