VSU shooting today: 5 injured, 1 critically, in shooting at Virginia State University near VSU Quad Annexes on Boisseau Street

PETERSBURG, Va. (WLS) -- A shooting at Virginia State University left five people injured, one critically, and prompted a campus lockdown early Saturday morning, school officials said. The VSU Office of Communications and University said the shooting happened near the VSU Quad Annexes in the area of Boisseau Street. Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. local time to the 3300-block of Boisseau Street, where they found five people who had been shot outside of VSU residence halls. All five people were transported to local hospitals, and according to Chesterfield County police, one of them is in critical condition, the university said. The four other victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
