SUFFOLK, Va. — Two firefighters were injured while battling a large commercial warehouse fire Friday night in Suffolk, according to Suffolk Fire & Rescue. Crews were dispatched around 7:10 p.m. to the 3200 block of Desert Road. When crews arrived about 13 minutes later, firefighters found a large warehouse heavily involved in flames, with nearby structures and equipment threatened by the fire. Due to the size of the fire, the incident commander declared a defensive operation. Firefighters worked to protect nearby exposures, power lines, a radio tower, heavy equipment and large propane tanks affected by the flames.
