Westfield High School shooting: 14-year-old suspect arrested after student shot and killed near Westfield HS, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 14-year-old suspect has been arrested following the deadly shooting of a Spring ISD student who was shot and killed near Westfield High School, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday. The sheriff's office said the fatal shooting happened just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon in the sidewalk area adjacent to Westfield High School and a Spring ISD building. Authorities said that there were not many students on campus at the time of the shooting. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, there was some type of incident between the teen victim, who has now been identified as 15-year-old Royce Witchet, and the 14-year-old suspect, which led up to the shooting.
