Wife urges caution after husband killed in online sale meetup gone wrong

ROSHARON, Texas (KTRK) -- The wife of a Rosharon man who investigators say was killed after attempting to sell property through Facebook Marketplace is urging others to be cautious when dealing with people they meet online. Mayra Gonzalez spoke exclusively with ABC13 after the death of her husband, Victor Gonzalez, a father of two whom she described as widely loved and deeply devoted to his family and friends. "Everyone knew him. He had friends everywhere," Mayra Gonzalez said. "He was a great man." 17-year-old Anthony Castro is charged with capital murder in connection with Victor Gonzalez's death. CHARGES FILED: 17-year-old charged with capital murder for killing man during robbery, Harris County sheriff says Investigators say Gonzalez was robbed at gunpoint while meeting Castro in the Aldine area last Sunday to sell property. Gonzalez then reportedly followed Castro's vehicle and even called 9-1-1 to give dispatchers directions.
