Wildwood girls soccer hands Atlantic Tech first loss behind Troiano’s 19 saves

Wildwood defeated Atlantic Tech 3-2 at Maxwell Field on Wednesday, handing Atlantic Tech its first loss of the season. Atlantic Tech (6-1, 5-1 Cape-Atlantic - United) took an early 1-0 lead in the first period when Alex Ryan scored. Wildwood (6-2, 5-1 Cape-Atlantic - United) responded in the second period with three goals to take control of the match. Harper Rennie tied the game at 1-1 before Ryan scored her second goal to put Atlantic Tech back ahead 2-1. However, Ellasyn Morey and Lily Atkinson each found the back of the net to give Wildwood the 3-2 advantage. Ryan led Atlantic Tech with two goals and four points. For Wildwood, Rennie, Morey and Atkinson each contributed one goal and two points. Wildwood goalkeeper Addison Troiano recorded 19 saves in the victory. Atlantic Tech outshot Wildwood 21-6 but couldn’t overcome Troiano’s performance in goal.
