Will marks on your ballot invalidate your vote? Cuyahoga County officials debunk viral claim
Source Scout · Cleveland.com / The Plain Dealer reports: CLEVELAND, Ohio — A message circulating on social media is warning voters that their ballots will be disqualified if poll workers write anything on them before handing them over to be counted. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections said Wednesday that the claim is false. For one, “poll workers are not trained to, and have no reason to write or make any marks of any kind on a ballot,” board spokesman Mike West told cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer. “We wouldn’t put any mark on a ballot.” However, even if there were stray marks in the margins of a ballot, the board has no reason to believe it would be rejected.
