The Lucas Fire, which is 5% contained, has rapidly spread near the Lake County and Mendocino county line, Potter Valley, according to Cal Fire incident reports. The fire began Thursday morning shortly after 9 a.m. in areas stocked with dry grass and oak, and it quickly grew in the afternoon after jumping containment lines firefighters established that morning. Driven by wind, the wildfire grew from 10 acres to 400 acres by 4 p.m., and then to 1,099 by 8 p.m., according to Cal Fire incident reports. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Cal Fire confirmed lightning was recorded in the area in the morning. In Lake County, evacuation orders are in place for zones:MNF-E016, MNF-E018, MNF-E019, UPP-E023, UPP-E025, UPP-E026, UPP-E027, UPP-E030.
