A Winston-Salem teenager was arrested and indicted in connection with the Islamic Center of San Diego, California mass shooting that occurred in May 2026, according to Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill. Three people were killed in the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego including a mosque security guard. The two suspects, who were teenage males, were found dead in a vehicle stopped in the middle of a road following the shootings from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said.
